What does Bukkake mean?
Several men come on one person, usually the face. In Japan the same word is also broth poured over noodles.
Definition
Bukkake, in porn, is the scene where a crowd comes on one person, almost always the face. The camera stays on that. It came out of Japanese adult video and became a niche in the West too.
The verb bukkakeru is to throw liquid hard, to splash. In Japan the same name covers bukkake udon: hot broth poured over noodles. Anyone looking up the dish and anyone looking up the film hits the same spelling.
A story goes around that this was a punishment for an adulterous woman in old Japan. There is no record. A close relative in the tags is gokkun: the come goes into a vessel and the person drinks it.
Origin
ぶっかけ is the noun from ぶっ掛ける, bukkakeru: to throw, splash, pour with force. Butsu intensifies; kakeru is to pour. In everyday Japanese the word covers any liquid that splatters, including the broth on udon and soba. Oxford and Etymonline date the sexual loan to the 1990s.
History
Scenes like this already showed up in Japanese porn in the 1980s. The first title with the word, according to English Wikipedia, is Shuttle Japan's Bukkake Milky Showers 01, in 1995. Kazuhiko Matsumoto popularized the cut around 1998, in the middle of mosaic censorship: semen could be filmed. Shuttle registered the mark ぶっかけ/BUKKAKE in January 2001. In the United States, American Bukkake 1 came out in 1999 from JM Productions. The medieval-punishment story is a legend; the genre is a film genre.
How it emerged
The mosaic covered penetration. A short name was missing for the scene where visible come was the whole cut. Bukkake, which already named broth poured on noodles, took the film. The romaji went into English and Portuguese with the niche.
