Definition

Ghosting is a cut by absence. There is no spoken refusal; there is a void where a message should be. The term stuck because it describes the asymmetry of the app: one side is still typing, the other has left the stage. It is not an agreed ending and not a slow fade. It is disappearance treated as a method.
